Thank you to the hundreds of people who made our 2008 Earth Day events a HUGE success. Six mini festivals across the metro area culminated in the giant puppet pageant The Spirit of the Wood on the lawn of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on May 11, 2008. Our Mother's day for Earth Mother was attended by over 3000 people on a beautiful sunny day. 2 -20' high trees danced to the music created by Jack Sharman, surrounded by giant butterflies, hordes of frogs, dragonflys and our beautiful sprite of the wood, played by Penelope Hearne. A truly audience interactive project melding puppetry, music and dance to celebrate our planet.
If you would like to be a part of next year's event, have a mini celebration in your area or help sponsor our envirometal GIANT puppet outreach please contact us now as we make plans for BIGGER and BETTER 2009! heather@stonelionpuppets.org
